MORTEN GRANAU LIVE! / ONE MAN ORCHESTRA (DJ SET)
(432 RECORDS & SPINTWIST RECORDS)
Morten Granau cuts his teeth on Trance music. DJing and producing already at a barely legal age, the young man from Copenhagen today is held to be one of the most up-and-coming talents of the lively Danish scene, a youthful and highly dynamic source of pumping Progressive grooves. In only a few years, Morten Granau has made it from newcomer to headliner status. It is 2001 when 13-year old Morten discovers the realm of ‘adult pleasures’ – one of the most fascinating ones being Psytrance. Instantly hooked he starts creating own tracks on his computer, also he gets into DJing. At the age of only 15 he is setting on fire the floors at legendary local clubs of his hometown.
Morten Granau’s production style is varied and hard to pinpoint. There is a very deep and psychedelic touch of classic Progressive Trance to it, but also a modern feeling of clubby funkiness. Together with his good friend Phaxe he gains first attention with the track “The Grudge”, released under the duo’s project name High & Mighty. The title that marks a turning point in his solo career is “The Way Life Should Be” which gains great international feedback when being published in 2008.
The increasing popularity of Morten’s entertaining grooves makes him a welcome guest at parties and festivals around the world. Besides releasing high-quality Progressive Trance under his civic name and creating progressive and deep house tracks as High & Mighty, the young go-getter is also known as the One Man Orchestra which stands for melodic Minimal Techno and Deephouse.
PULSES LIVE! (64HZ)
THE ENIGMATIC TECHNO EXPERIENCE
The duo known as Pulses and its enigmatic techno experience is the product of a thoroughly Montreal connection between the talents and visions of Dom Dumoulin (formerly known as Snork) and Patrice Tremblay (64hz Collective’s DJ Bushido).
Without a doubt, the synthetic ambiance of techno music is the mystic laboratory for this experience. A musical environment straight out of the old guard, as attested by the choice of analog textures and minimalist structures to maximize the effect. This strange and futuristic ambiance has been redesigned and reimagined to create a new portrait framed by the resonance of its authors’ influences and imaginations. This amalgam borrows its atmospheric layers from dub techno and inserts them in a deep repetitive progression. Within this space, inside the cold interstellar ambiances of drone music, imperceptible charges build up to a momentum which then crashes with the inexorable strength of techno music. At the heart of this interstellar music, mysterious and subtle melodies provide a waving and undulating thread akin to a secret code, allowing for the ritual celebration of a timeless music. An experience which, while overwhelming the senses, will bring the participants back to the essential themes of genesis and the origins of time and space; And through its aesthetics, expresses the enigmatic phenomenon of the human being and its strange existence.
